4. Follow industry trends and try to prempt changing skills demand, The best way to do that is to build “softer” skills around your hard skills.
5. Try to make yourself redundant. Building skills that make you ready for the next level is imperative.
6. Get yourself a mentor who has 3X knowledge [cross-functional, cross-cultural and cross-industry knowledge].
7. Move between industries and functional areas to apply your expertise areas.
8. Decide if a managerial or a specialist career is what appeals to you more, focus on building on your skills than seeking to plug your gaps.
